Greno’s ability to combine precision machining with in-house welding and hardfacing, a form of surface treatment, allows us to produce complex components with dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.

Our industrial assembly services help you to reduce internal handling, and our kitting and packaging services reduce your assembly time while eliminating time-consuming searches for individual parts.

Quality, Inspection and Traceability

Power generation components must meet strict industry standards. As part of our commitment to quality assurance, Greno maintains:

  • Rigorous dimensional inspection

  • Material certification and traceability

  • Process documentation

  • Tight‑tolerance machining controls

  • Final verification for fit and performance

Every part is inspected to ensure it meets or exceeds customer specifications. Our quality management system supports safe, reliable operation in mission‑critical environments, and we offer both non-destructive testing and precision measurement eliminating time-consuming searches for individual parts.

Steam Turbines

Steam turbines rely on precise geometry and robust materials to maintain efficiency and withstand thermal cycling.

Greno machines steam turbine parts such as:

  • Blades and buckets

  • Rotors and shafts

  • Casings and housings

  • Valve bodies and high‑pressure piping components

These components are produced using advanced CNC turning, milling, and large‑format machining centers capable of holding tight tolerances across complex geometries. Our experience with high‑temperature alloys ensures durability in demanding steam environments.

Gas Turbines

Gas turbines require components that can endure extreme heat, rapid temperature changes, and high rotational speeds.

Greno machines gas turbine parts such as:

  • Combustion hardware

  • Turbine rings and shrouds

  • High-pressure seals

  • Structural brackets and supports

We routinely machine nickel‑based superalloys like Inconel, Hastelloy, and other heat‑resistant materials for gas turbine performance.

Aeroderivative Turbines

Gas turbines require components that can endure extreme heat, rapid temperature changes, and high rotational speeds. Greno machines gas turbine parts such as:

  • Combustion hardware

  • Turbine rings and shrouds

  • High-pressure seals

  • Structural brackets and supports

We routinely machine nickel‑based superalloys like Inconel, Hastelloy, and other heat‑resistant materials for gas turbine performance.

Mobile Power Generation

Mobile power generation units are used in oil and gas, emergency response, and remote operations.

Greno machines components such as:

  • Generator housings

  • Structural frames

  • Mounting hardware

  • High‑pressure fittings and connectors

These precision machined components are engineered to withstand vibration, transport shock, and variable environmental conditions.

Generators and Rotating Equipment

Generators and rotating equipment depend on precision alignment, balanced assemblies, and durable materials.

That’s why Greno machines:

  • Stators and rotors

  • Bearing housings

  • End bells and covers

  • Alignment keys and locking hardware

Every machined metal part is inspected to ensure dimensional accuracy, proper fit, and long‑term reliability. Our machining services support both new production and refurbishment programs for OEMs, utilities, and service providers.

Hydro Power Parts

Hydroelectric facilities across the U.S. Northeast and eastern Canada trust Greno for precision machined parts.

The parts we machine include:

  • Wicket gates and stay vanes

  • Runner hubs & blade elements

  • Shafts and couplings

  • Valve components

Bring your critical hydroelectric components to a manufacturer with the scale, certifications, and regional footprint to deliver on time and on budget.

Power Generation Fasteners

Power generation facilities need custom fasteners that can withstand tough environments. From continuous thermal cycling to extreme high-pressure steam and constant structural vibration, standard fasteners can’t prevent joint relaxation or stress corrosion cracking.

Greno Industries manufactures high-precision, heavy-duty fastening solutions that maintain joint integrity and prevent catastrophic failure in critical power infrastructure. At our manufacturing facility in Scotia, New York, we machine power generation fasteners for:

  • Gas Turbine Parts: High-temperature casing bolts, rotor tie rods, and combustion chamber fasteners.

  • Steam Turbine Parts: Main steam valve studs, high-pressure casing studs, and inner shell bolting capable of resisting thermal creep.

  • Nuclear Power Systems: Reactor pressure vessel studs, primary coolant pump fasteners, and safety-related components manufactured under strict quality standards.

  • Hydroelectric Equipment: Large-diameter wicket gate fasteners, runner hub bolts, and heavy-duty structural couplings.

  • Generator Parts & GIS Valves: Specialized fastening components for stator frames, rotor end rings, and gas-insulated switchgear.

We support both original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) field service teams during planned outages and urgent turnarounds.

Advanced Capabilities for Power Gen Applications

Power generation applications often need oversized components and complex designs that standard machine shops can’t handle. Greno’s in-house capabilities address these challenges:

  • Large Diameter Turning: We routinely machine heavy-duty, oversized studs and heavy hex nuts required for turbine casings and high-pressure flanges.

  • In-House Gun Drilling: Critical for power generation, our deep-hole gun drilling allows us to manufacture hollow turbine studs and fasteners with integrated center-bored heater holes, enabling precise ultrasonic elongation measurements during tensioning.

  • Tight Tolerance Threading: To ensure uniform load distribution and eliminate cross-threading risks during high-torque field installations, we achieve thread profiles and dimensional tolerances as tight as ±0.0001”.

High-Performance Alloys for Thermal and Mechanical Stability

Selecting the correct material grade is vital to combat creep rupture, oxidation, and fatigue over decades of service. Greno stocks and machines premium, certified alloys tailored for power generation environments, including:

  • Durahete (1055, 900, 950): The industry standard for steam turbine applications, chosen for its exceptional creep resistance and stability in the 400°C to 570°C (752°F to 1058°F) range.

  • Inconel (718, 625): Nickel-chromium superalloys that retain immense tensile strength and resist severe oxidation in high-heat gas turbine exhaust and combustion zones.

  • Alloy and Stainless Steels: Including specialized heat-treated grades (such as ASTM A193 B16) designed specifically for high-temperature, high-pressure bolting.

Every power generation fastener produced at our Scotia, New York facility is backed by absolute material traceability, rigid non-destructive testing (NDT), and complete certification documentation to ensure flawless reliability when the grid depends on it.
